Some heartbreaks are simply too big for words. For Christina’s husband and their three boys, life changed in ways no family should ever have to experience.
In 2022, Christina was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, after doctors discovered a mass in her left temporal lobe. She endured chemotherapy and radiation, continuing to fight with hope for more precious time with the family she loved.
But in August 2026, everything changed. Christina’s husband rushed her to the hospital when she suddenly became weak, lost the ability to move her right arm and leg, and began struggling to find her words. Doctors discovered that her cancer had worsened, and she was admitted to the ICU.
Just days before, Christina had been able to walk, talk, and move independently. Her decline was devastatingly fast. As her condition worsened, the family was told the news no husband, wife, or child should ever have to hear: Christina might have only two weeks left to live.
She passed away just shy of that time.
Her three boys were at school when their mother took her final breath. In the blink of an eye, they lost the person whose hugs, voice, love, and presence had been part of their everyday world. Her husband lost his wife, his partner, and the woman with whom he had built a family and a future.
Now, they must learn how to live with a loss that no amount of preparation could ever make easier.
We are raising funds to help Christina’s husband and three boys attend Camp Willow’s Light, a grief camp for children and their families.
When a child loses a parent, the grief can be overwhelming and confusing. Children may struggle to understand their feelings, find the words to express their pain, or feel that no one truly understands what they are going through. Their father is grieving, too, while trying to remain strong and provide the love, comfort, and stability his boys need.
We want to give this family the opportunity to attend Camp Willow’s Light together a place where they can be supported as they navigate their grief, connect with others who understand the pain of losing someone they love, and learn healthy ways to cope with their loss.
Our hope is that this experience will remind Christina’s boys that they are not alone, that it is okay to cry and talk about their mom, and that they can carry her love with them even as they learn to live in a world without her physical presence. It will also give their father an opportunity to receive support as he learns to navigate his own grief while helping his children through theirs.
We cannot take away their pain or bring Christina back, but we can help make sure this family does not have to walk through grief alone.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help make it possible for Christina’s husband and boys to attend Camp Willow’s Light and receive the support they need during this heartbreaking chapter of their lives.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean so much to the family. Every contribution, share, prayer, and act of kindness brings them one step closer to this opportunity for healing.
Christina was so much more than her diagnosis. She was a wife, a mother, and a beloved part of her family. Though her life was cut tragically short, the love she gave her husband and boys will remain with them forever.
Please help us honor Christina’s memory by giving her family the gift of support, connection, and hope as they learn to navigate life without her.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Christina’s husband and boys find their way through grief, one day at a time.
Because even in the darkest moments, no family should have to grieve alone.
